shelf reading challenge

I am TERRIBLE at reading challenges and book clubs. I cannot plan the books I read ahead of time or it becomes a chore (I don’t like chores).

However, I have always loved the goodreads challenge. All I am doing is challenging myself to read a certain number of books. I can live with this chore. AND my book shelves have become ridiculous. I buy books ALL the time and only read a handful of them. I am on the go so much that it is easier to just read a book on Scribd or my kindle app. I can read on my phone at the gym, at work, at red lights (just kidding), but really I can read them anywhere I want.

I have decided that the rest of this year (and maybe next year. we will see) will be devoted to reading books from my shelves.

I think I am going to be able to keep up with this challenge because, well, I have over 100 books to read. I won’t give up my kindle or my scribd books, but I will be pushing myself to read more books from my own shelves (and also buying less). I will probably use my scribd app to read the books that I have on my shelves while I’m out and about (this isn’t cheating is it?).

I hope between school, full-time work, and homeschooling my kid, I can find time to read. However, don’t judge me if they are all second grade level books (reading is reading right?).

Happy reading!
